Cards Post of the Week – Oct. 21 through 27

Recognizing the very best post of the past week from our message board community of thousands of St. Louis Cardinals fans the world over.

As we do each and every week here at, we call out the best of the best - the "Post of the Week" from our Cardinals message board, this time for the week ending Saturday, October 27.

Here is the link to the Message Boards, of which there are several – for fantasy players, insider information for subscribers, general topics, non-Cardinals sports and more.

Many weeks, there are so many excellent posts that deciding a winner is difficult. That wasn't the case this time. Perhaps the World Series going on without the Cardinals for the second time in four years has both limited creativity and caused an uncharacteristic erosion of the civility for which this board is known. The Series is now over and I hope the ill will has also passed.

All posts were not lost, however. For example, in the thread "NY Times opinon (sic) piece on JD Drew - Offensive Indifference", "SkinnyPimp" offered an analysis of Drew's play as a Cardinal that may have been better than the one provided by the original author of the source article.

On page four of the thread "Worst Trades of All Time", a number of very informative posts were offered regarding the Steve Carlton-Rick Wise trade in 1972, including those by "jmodene1", "rbdrdbrd" and "bicyclemike".

This week's winner can be found in the thread called "Key to 2008", which includes a very well thought out list of the most important questions remaining for next year's team, offered by "1964Cards". This stimulated several interesting posts from other members, too, another mark of a good contribution.

For his fine post, "1964Cards" is our latest winner of the "Post of the Week" award. In recognition, he collects a free four-week subscription to and all the other great sites in the network.

Next week, it can be you! So, keep posting!
