Pirela Ready To Move On

As the 2013 season continues to wind down, Jose Pirela continues to be part of the Trenton Thunder lineup. A seasoned veteran since 2011, Pirela is showing that despite his long stay in the Double-A dugout, he has made himself one of the most reliable players on the roster. With a hot bat and high expectations, he is hoping it'll be enough to move on up in his career come the near future.

"He's played well for us," Thunder manager Tony Franklin said. "If we've got anyone who leads by example here in this club, it is him. I think the world of him. "He's quite a good hitter. He has really gotten better at playing second base too, and we need some of that stability in the infield."
