2008 Season
Ranked by the Birdhouse at #14 in the preseason Top 40 Prospect Rankings, Hoffpauir had a quiet season, hitting .273 with four home runs and 45 RBI. Hoffpauir remains on the Cardinals 40-man roster, a foot injury may have contributed to him not being called up in September.
2007 Season
His .323 batting average and .407 OBP led the organization (minimum 250 at-bats). He split playing time between Springfield and Memphis and was added to the Cardinals 40-man roster after the season. In 430 career minor league games, Hoffpauir has walked 194 times and struck out only 143 times.
Career Notes
Hoffpauir spent the entire 2006 season with Double-A Springfield. He hit .249/.345/.359 with seven home runs and 46 RBI in 119 games. He drew 54 walks and struck out 41 times.
In 2004, Hoffpauir appeared in just nine games for short-season Class A New Jersey, hitting .316, before being promoted to low Class A Peoria. In 62 games for the Chiefs, Jarrett hit .268, drawing 29 walks while striking out just 21 times.
In 2005, Hoffpauir began the season at low Class A Quad Cities before being promoted to high Class A Palm Beach on June 20. He hit .313/.376/.414 and drew more walks (21) than strikeouts (14) in 61 games for the Swing. In 63 games for Palm Beach, he hit only .257 but still drew more walks (32) than strikeouts (26).
