Became a Cardinal Signed to a free agent minor league contract on December, 19, 2008. Released by the Cardinals on August 4, 2009.

2008 Season Started a pair of games for Gigantes del Cibao in the Dominican Winter League (0-2, 24.30 ERA)before joining Caribes de Anzoategui in the Venezuelan Winter League (4 starts, 0-2, 6.39 ERA).

Career Notes Katsuhiko has played in the Dominican Winter League for Cibao each of the last two years and Has not pitched in a full-season league since 2006 when he went 1-7 with a 4.37 ERA for Orix of the Japanese League.
