2008 Season
Johnson did what was basically expected from him in 2008, he provided a veteran presence at Memphis, played in 66 games, hitting .264 with a home run and 31 RBIs and an impressive .371 on base percentage. Johnson got the call to St. Louis when the rosters were expanded in September, playing in 10 games, hitting .294 (5-for-17).

2007 Season
Johnson hit .320/.440/.410 in 244 at-bats for Triple-A Tucson (Arizona Diamondbacks) of the PCL in 2007. Named to the Mid-Season All-Star team.

Career Notes
The Cardinals are the seventh organizational stop made by the former first-round pick of the Chicago White Sox in 1994. He has also played in the Oakland, Milwaukee (twice), Cubs and Arizona systems, but has not caught onto a Major League club since 2004.
