2008 Season
Greene split paying time between Double-A Springfield and Triple-A Memphis, finishing the season at Memphis hitting just .234 with 0 home runs and seven RBIs in 30 games and 111 at-bats. Greene was scheduled to play for the Peoria Saguaros in the Arizona Fall League following the 08 campaign. If not protected by the Cardinals this winter, Greene could end up being a Rule 5 draft pick by some other organization.
2007 Season
Hit .244 with 8 HRs and 25 RBI in 65 games for Double-A Springfield before undergoing surgery on his right knee on July 26.
Greene is 62-for-68 (91%) on stolen base attempts in his young career.-He was selected as best infield arm in a
Baseball America “Best Tools” survey of the Cardinals minor league system.
Career Notes
Greene began the 2006 season with high Class A Palm Beach, but after hitting .224 and striking out 90 times in 71 games he was sent down to low Class A Quad Cities on July 1. He hit .287/.375/.552 with 15 home runs and 47 RBI for the Swing, but still struck out 65 times in 64 games. He led the system with a combined 33 stolen bases.
In 2005, Greene was sent to short-season Class A New Jersey after signing and hit .261/.352/.370, stealing 13 bases in 14 attempts in 35 games before being promoted to high Class A Palm Beach on August 12. With Palm Beach, he hit .271/.326/.388 in 20 games.

In 2007 he was ranked by another publication as having the best infield arm in the Cardinals minor league system.
