Selected in the 35th round (1,066th overall) of the June, 2006 First-Year Player Draft.
2008 Season
Jim had to deal with some nagging injuries in 2008, landing him on the DL three times. He had hamstring issues early in the season that cost him two trips to the DL and inflammation in his right shoulder that sent him back for the final time in mid-July. He managed to play in 76 games, despite the injuries, splitting playing time between Palm Beach (31 games) & Springfield (45 games). The 23-year-old outfielder hit a combined .277 with three home runs and 31 RBIs. To make up for lost playing time, at the end of the 2008 season, Rapoport played winter ball in the Hawaii Winter League for the Honolulu Sharks.
