Became a Cardinal
Selected in the 16th round (496th overall) of the June, 2006 First-Year Player Draft. Received a $325,000 signing bonus.
2008 Season
Tommy split the season between Quad Cities and Palm Beach and despite a Midwest League 'Player of the Week' award in May, Pham struggled to battle through a shoulder injury in July, hitting just .200 in August for the River Bandits. He finished the season with a .230 batting average with 18 home runs and 56 RBIs.
Career Notes
Switched positions from shortstop to the outfield in 07. In 2006, Tommy joined the Johnson City Cardinals in late June and promptly began his professional career with a four-hit game. He continued fast out of the blocks, completing June with a .345 average, an on-base percentage of .457 and an OPS of .940, before suffering a groin strain that landed him on the DL for a couple of weeks and slowed him down the rest of season.
