Selected in the sixth round (202nd overall) of the June, 2007 First-Year Player Draft. Received a $115,000 signing bonus.

2008 Season
The light hitting infielder split playing time between second base and short for Quad Cities and the Palm Beach Cardinals. Subject of a couple of roster moves in 2008, Marmol hit a combined .188 between Quad Cities (47 games) & Palm Beach (44 games). The Cardinals re-assigned Oliver to Palm Beach near the end of August.
