Selected in the 37th round (1,130th overall) of the June 2005 First-Year Player Draft. Received an $80,000 signing bonus.

2007 Season
Set a Quad Cities franchise record with 31 saves, finishing the season with a 1-5 record and a 1.53 ERA. He held opposing batters to a .189 batting average, walking 20 and striking out 57 in just 53 innings pitched.

2006 Season
Maiques was limited to just one start for short-season Class A State College due to a forearm injury.

Career Notes:
Maiques underwent "Tommy John" surgery shortly before being drafted and did not pitch professionally in 2005.
