Signed a one-year contract with the St. Louis Cardinals on March 4, 2008. Added to the Cardinals 40-Man Roster, November 20, 2007. Contract rewewable through 2007.

Became a Cardinal
Selected in the third round (104th overall) of the June, 2001 First-Year Player Draft. Received a $375,000 signing bonus.

2007 Season
Mather split the season between Double-A Springfield and Triple-A Memphis this year, hitting a combined .271/.357/.522 with 31 homers. Added to the Cardinals 40-man roster in November.

Career Notes
Mather hit .269 with 16 home runs and 74 RBI in 124 games in 2006 for high Class A Palm Beach. He was a perfect nine-for-nine in stolen base attempts.
