2008 Season
Worrell put another solid season under his belt, posting a record of 3-3 with a 2.15 ERA and five saves, at Memphis. Worrell made his major league debut during the season, appearing in four games for the Cardinals in June, before being sent back to Triple-A.
2007 Season
Worrell gained All-Star recognition in his first full season at
Memphis (AAA), going 3-2 with a 3.09 ERA & four saves in 50
games. The reliever finished 2nd on Redbirds team in games pitched (50) in ‘07, one
behind Brian Falkenborg (51).
Worrell fanned 66 batters in his 67.0 IP and allowed 58 hits and 25 walks.Worked 2.0 or more innings in 19 of his 50 appearances.
The side-armer allowed six HRs in ‘07, only two over the final four months (34 games pitched).

Career Notes
The closer for Double-A Springfield, Worrell posted 27 saves and a 4.52 ERA in 57 appearances in 2006. He allowed 52 hits, struck out 75 and walked 20 in 61.2 innings.
In 2005, Worrell was the minor league winner of the Rolaids Relief Man award, earning 103 points. Given to the top relief pitcher in Minor League Baseball, Rolaids awards three points for each save and two points for each victory in relief, while deducting two points for each loss. Mark spent the entire season closing games for high Class A Palm Beach. He posted a 2.25 ERA and 35 saves, allowing 35 hits, striking out 53 and walking 19 in 56 innings.
In 2004, Worrell appeared in 17 games for Rookie-level Johnson City, posting a 1.21 ERA and saving six games, striking out 35 and walking only seven in 22-1/3 innings. After a promotion to low Class A Peoria, he posted a 4.30 ERA in 12 appearances and saved another six games.
