Became a Cardinal
Selected in the fifth round (172nd overall) of the June, 2007 First-Year Player Draft. Received a $134,000 signing bonus.

2008 Season
Eager split playing time between Quad Cities and Batavia in 2008, taking home the Scout.Com Batavia Starter of the Year award, going 6-3 with a impressive 1.76 ERA for the Muckdogs. He struggled in his 15 games for the River Bandits, going 2-2 with a 5.92 ERA in 15 games, including nine starts.
