2008 Season
After a strong 2007, Maiques was roughed up to the tune of a 2-4, won-loss record with a 6.17 ERA, splitting playing time between Palm Beach (27 games) and Quad Cities (eight games). His 43 walks to 30 strikeouts on the season, is some cause for concern.
2007 Season
Set a Quad Cities franchise record with 31 saves, finishing the season with a 1-5 record and a 1.53 ERA. He held opposing batters to a .189 batting average, walking 20 and striking out 57 in just 53 innings pitched.
Career Notes
Maiques underwent "Tommy John" surgery shortly before being drafted and did not pitch professionally in 2005. The following season, Maiques was limited to just one start for short-season Class A State College due to a forearm injury.
