2006 Season:
Southard hit .306/.384/.488 with five home runs and 44 RBI in 66 games for short-season Class A State College. He stole 16 bases in 18 attempts. His .306 batting average ranked T-3rd best among Cardinals minor leaguers and 6th in the New York-Penn League. He ranked 2nd in the league in doubles (21, T-3rd in runs (43) and 3rd with a .488 slugging
pct. He started in LF at the New York-Penn League All-Star Game and went 0-for-4.
