Became a Cardinal
Selected in the 34th round (1,036th overall) of the June, 2006 First-Year Player Draft.

2007 Season
Played just 11 games for the Swing of Quad Cites before getting promoted to Palm Beach. In 91 games for the Cardinals he hit .252 with five home runs and 30 RBI. Garcia had a .653 slugging percentage for Palm Beach.

2006 Season
Garcia hit .339/.395/.510 with four home runs and 25 RBI in his pro-debut for Rookie-level Johnson City. He also walked more than he struck out (15/13).

Career Notes
Was the 2006 Appalachian League batting champion and led all Cardinals minor leaguers with his .339 batting average (minimum 2.7 PA / team game). Garcia posted the lowest strikeout per plate appearance ratio in the Appy League at 16.15 plate appearances per strikeout. His .510 slugging percentage ranked T4th in the league.
