2008 Season
Loaned to the Triple-A Petroleros de Minatitlan by the Cardinals at the beginning of the season, Hearned was named to the Mexican League All-Star team, but did not participate because of an injury (tendinitis) that landed him on the DL. Trey finished the 2008 season, with his last start coming on May 21st, with a 5-1 record and a 2.94 ERA. The Cardinals pulled Hearne from the Mexican League in June.
Career Notes
Trey had a rough 07 season posting a record of 5-11 with a bloated 5.95 ERA with the Palm Beach Cardinals. He pitched the third-most innings pitched for Palm Beach with 137.2, but he led the FSL in runs allowed (103), earned runs (91) and hits allowed (181).
In 2006, Hearne made 31 appearances (17 starts) for low Class A Quad Cities, going 12-3 with a 2.25 ERA, allowing 102 hits, striking out 106 and walking 34 in 128 innings. Opponents hit .216 against him.
Hearne spent the 2005 season with the short-season Class A New Jersey Cardinals where he compiled a 4-2 record, 2.56 ERA and 0.96 WHIP in 38.2 innings over 24 game appearances. He gave up 25 hits and walked 12 batters while striking out 42 and holding them to a .181 batting average. He averaged 9.78 strikeouts per nine innings, best among the Cardinals' 2005 draft class.
