Became a Cardinal
Selected in the 11th round (346th overall) of the June, 2006 First-Year Player Draft.

2007 Season
Climbed three levels in his first full professional season and earned the Cardinals and Birdhouse Minor League Pitcher of the Year Award. He topped Cardinals full season minor leaguers with a 2.55 ERA and 147 strikeouts and was tied for second with 12 wins.

2006 Season
Walters appeared in 26 games for short-season Class A State College, posting a 3.56 ERA, allowing 29 hits, striking out 31 and walking nine in 30.1 innings. Opponents hit .242 against him.
