2006 Season:
Prior to the season, Mikrut was converted to a pitcher. He appeared in 50 games for low Class A Quad Cities, posting a 3.45 ERA, allowing 45 hits, striking out 56 and walking 20 in 60 innings. Opponents hit .206 against him. He was named to the Midwest League All-Star game.

Career Notes:
Mikrut spent the 2005 season with the Rookie-level Johnson City Cardinals where he appeared in 33 games. He hit .215/.255/.452/ in 93 at bats, primarily at third base and designated hitter. He also pitched three innings over two games. He struck out five while walking none and allowing only one hit.
