Became a Cardinal:
Signed as a minor league free agent on January 11, 2006.

2006 Season:
Richardson hit .311 with 17 home runs and 78 RBIs for Double-A Springfield. His .311 batting average was tops among Cardinals full season minor leaguers and seventh in the Texas League.

Career Notes:
Having yet to play a game at the Triple-A level, Richardson slammed 40 home runs and drove in 166 runs in 2001 and 2002 and established a reputation as a solid defender at third. He missed much of the 2003 and 2004 seasons due to serious ankle and shoulder injuries and was ultimately designated for assignment by the Phillies in September, 2005.
