Hernandez hit .274 with two home runs and 28 RBI in 90 games for Triple-A Memphis in 2006.
Career Notes:
Hernandez fled Cuba in 1996. He was originally signed by the Yankees as a non-drafted free agent in May, 1998, and worked his way through their system making his major league debut in September, 2003. In 2004, Hernandez was claimed off waivers by the Philadelphia Phillies and spent the season with their Triple-A club. He joined the San Diego organization prior to the 2005 season and hit a career-high .288 with Triple-A Portland.
