Became a Cardinal:
Selected in the 15th round of the June, 2005 First-Year Player Draft. Daniels was drafted in the 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005 drafts prior to signing with the Cardinals.
2006 Season:
Daniels made 24 starts for low Class A Quad Cities, going 7-11 with a 3.07 ERA, allowing 139 hits, striking out 128 and walking 44 in 137.2 innings. He spent 15 days on the disabled list in May with a pulled hamstring.
Career Notes:
Daniels spent the 2005 season with the short-season A New Jersey Cardinals where he went 2-1 in ten game appearances, five of which were starts. He compiled a 4.50 ERA and 1.38 WHIP in 26 innings while holding opponents to a .189 batting average. Daniels gave up 18 hits and 18 walks in that span. He spent a brief time on the suspended list in early August.
