Selected in the fifth round of the June, 2005 First-Year Player Draft. Received a $150,000 signing bonus.

2006 Season:
Boggs made 27 starts for high Class A Palm Beach, going 10-6 with a 3.41 ERA. He allowed 153 hits, struck out 126 and walked 51 in 145 innings.

Career Notes:
In 2005, Boggs appeared in 15 games, 14 of which were starts, for short-season Class A New Jersey. He went 4-4 with a 3.89 ERA, allowing 77 hits, striking out 61 and walking 24 in 71-2/3 innings.
