Became a Cardinal:
Signed to a minor league contract as a free agent on December 13, 2006.

2006 Season:
Marrero played four positions (1B, RF, LF, C) in 13 starts for Colorado in 2006 while batting .217 with four home runs and 10 RBI in 30 games before a June 9 trade to the Mets for infielder Kaz Matsui. He appeared in 25 games with New York and batted .182 with a pair of home runs and five RBI.

Career Notes:
A 3rd round draft pick of the Cardinals in 1993, Marrero played seven seasons with the Cardinals from 1997-2003. Since then, he has played for Atlanta, Kansas City, Baltimore, Colorado and the New York Mets after being sent to the Braves in a trade with J.D. Drew that brought Jason Marquis, Adam Wainwright and Ray King to the Cardinals. He is a career .243 hitter with 66 home runs in 724 Major League games.
