Selected in the 18th round of the June, 2006 First-Year Player Draft.
2006 Season:
Marti was initially sent to high Class A Palm Beach after being drafted. He was promoted to Double-A Springfield in July after hitting .282/.351/.494 with four home runs in 20 games. He hit .227 with six home runs in 40 games for Springfield.
Following the season, Marti was chosen by the Cardinals to participate in the Arizona Fall League. He hit .345/.378/.571 with four home runs in 21 games for the Peoria Saguaros.
MISC:
Marti emigrated to the United States from Cuba in April, 2005 after playing there since 1997. His actual age may be four years older than reported.
