Selected in the second round of the June, 2005 First-Year Player Draft. Received a $425,000 signing bonus.

2006 Season
Webber went 6-6 with a respectable 4.21 ERA in 27 games (26 starts) for high Class A Palm Beach in 2006. However, opponents hit .289 against him and he allowed 153 hits and walked 63 while striking out 65 in 134.2 innings.

Career Notes:
In 2005, Webber appeared in 10 games (9 starts) for short-season Class A New Jersey. He went 5-2 with a 1.87 ERA, allowing 35 hits, striking out 43 and walking 15 in 53 innings before a promotion to low Class A Quad Cities on August 12. For the Swing, he went 0-4 with a 3.41 ERA in five starts. He allowed 28 hits, striking out 11 and walking nine in 29 innings.

MISC:
Webber was a closer at CMS, but the Cardinals converted him to a starter.
