Career Stats

Current Contract:
Signed through 2006.

Became a Cardinal:
Signed as a previously released free agent on June 14, 2004.

2005 Season:
Doyne began the season at low Class A Quad Cities, but was promoted to high Class A Palm Beach on April 10. On May 1, the Cardinals promoted him to Double-A Springfield and he went on to become their closer. He posted a 1.95 ERA in 48 appearances, striking out 53 and walking 36 in 55-1/3 innings. In 12 appearances for the Surprise Scorpions of the Arizona Fall League, Doyne had a 6.75 ERA.

Career Notes:
An 8th round draft pick of the Houston Astros in 2000, Doyne is already with his third organization. The Astros released him midway through the 2003 season and he was then picked up by the Padres. That didn't last long either, as he was released by San Diego in spring training the next season, apparently because of problems between Doyne and the coaching staff. He was then picked up by the Cardinals and converted to a reliever. In 159 career minor league appearances, Doyne has a 3.45 in 449-1/3 innings.
