The Cardinals brought him back up when the rosters expanded in September and he finished the season with a 2.70 ERA in 13-1/3 innings with St. Louis.

Career Notes:
In 2004, Reyes missed nearly two months with shoulder tendinitis after his first two starts for high Class A Palm Beach, but after going 3-0 with a 4.66 ERA in seven games, the Cardinals moved him up to Double-A Tennessee on July 1. In 12 Double-A starts, Reyes went 6-2 with a 2.91 ERA, striking out 102 and walking only 13 in 74-1/3 innings. Opponents hit only .230 against him. He also picked up a win as the game one starter in the playoffs for the Smokies, allowing only one run on three hits in seven innings while striking out 11.
MISC:
Reyes pitched alongside Mark Prior at the University of Southern California. He was selected by the Detroit Tigers in the 13th round of the June, 2002 First-Year Player draft, but did not sign. He was thought to be a cinch first rounder, but fell in both the 2002 and 2003 drafts because of nagging elbow injuries.
