2005 Season:
Began the season at Double-A Binghampton where he hit .311/.371/.472 in 45 games before being promoted to Triple-A Norfolk on June 3. With the Tides, Redman hit .297 in 76 games while stealing nine bases and being caught only once.
Career Notes:
Redman was the New York Mets’ tenth round selection back in 1999. The right-handed hitting speedster has stolen 246 bases in his minor league career, although only 29 of them in the last two years.
Redman made his only major league appearances during the 2003 season, when he hit just .125 in 24 at-bats. His career minor league batting average is .271, generated over seven seasons, but he has traditionally struggled against lefties.

Prentice Montezz Redman graduated from Tuscaloosa (AL) Academy...Played football, basketball and ran track...Was an all-star wide receiver and safety in football and won two state championships as a power forward in basketball...Attended Bevill State (AL) Junior College...His brother, Tike, was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the fifth round of 1996 Draft and had played for the Pirates from 2000-2005 before being designated for assignment and traded to the Mets.
