2006 Season:
Narveson began the season in extended spring training rehabbing after undergoing labrum surgery over the offseason. He was activated and sent to Palm Beach on a rehab assignment in late May. After three starts the Cardinals sent him to Triple-A Memphis. He went on to make 15 starts, going 8-5 with a 2.81 ERA. He allowed 70 hits, struck out 58 and walked 33 in 80 innings. The Cardinals made Narveson a September call-up and he posted a 4.82 ERA, appearing in four games (one start).
Career Notes:
The Cardinals gave Narveson $675,000 as a second round draft pick in 2000. He underwent Tommy John surgery after the 2001 season and returned on a rehab assignment to Johnson City by June, 2002. The Cardinals traded Narveson to Colorado along with Luis Martinez and Jason Burch for Larry Walker in August, 2004.
In 2005, The Rockies traded Narveson along with Charles Johnson and cash to the Boston Red Sox for Byung-Hyun Kim in a spring training deal. He began the season with Triple-A Pawtucket, posting a record of 4-5 with a 4.77 ERA. The Cardinals claimed him off waivers from the Red Sox on August 8, when they tried to pass him through waivers. He made two starts for Triple-A Memphis before being shut down for the season, on August 19, with a sore shoulder. He underwent surgery on his labrum over the offseason.
