Selected in the 10th round of the June, 2000 First-Year Player Draft. Received a $40,000 signing bonus.
2005 Season:
Cali had a couple of short stints in St. Louis in 2005, but was not called up when rosters were expanded in September. He posted a 10.50 ERA in six appearances, walking six and striking out five in six innings for St. Louis. He posted a 4.50 ERA in 50 appearances out of the Memphis bullpen, allowing 74 hits, striking out 45 and walking 28 in 58-1/3 innings.
Career Notes:
Cali was a starter in 2000, his first professional season, but was converted to relief in 2001. He made his major league debut in September, 2004, having never pitched above Class A prior to that season.
