Acquired from the Colorado Rockies with second baseman Aaron Miles in exchange for pitcher Ray King on December 7, 2005.
2005 Season:
Bigbie was dealt to the Colorado Rockies for outfielder Eric Byrnes in July, 2005, after batting .248/.314/.374 with five home runs and 21 RBIs in 67 games for Baltimore. In 23 games with the Rockies, he hit .212/.257/.258.
Career Notes:
A first round draft pick (21st overall) by the Baltimore Orioles in 1999 that received a $1,200,000 signing bonus, Bigbie made his major league debut in June, 2001. He played in 83 games for the Orioles in 2003, batting .303/.365/.456 with nine home runs and 31 RBI. His most productive season came in 2004 when he hit .280/.341/.427 with 15 home runs and 68 RBI in 139 games.
