| Biography: |
| BECAME A CARDINAL: Cardinals' 7th round selection in the June, 2003 First-Year Player Draft.
CAREER NOTES: - 2004: Named the starting shortstop for the Eastern Division at the Midwest League All-Star Game... captured the Midwest League batting title and was ranked 2nd among Cards minor leaguers with a .322 BA...his 30 SBs were 4th-most in the Cards minor league system...rated as the seventh-best Cardinals prospect by Baseball America. 2003: Ranked 7th in the New York-Penn League with a .311 BA.
BASEBALL PROSPECTUS PROFILE: A seventh-round choice in 2003 out of a small college in Idaho, Ryan is athletic with good defensive instincts at short. He hasn't played above low-A Peoria before the 2005 season, but if he's to pass muster higher up the system, despite his .322 career average, he'll need to improve his plate discipline and show at least a semblance of gap power.
