Biography:

BECAME A CARDINAL: Acquired from the Montreal Expos for cash considerations, April 4, 2004.

CONTRACT STATUS: Signed through 2005.

2005 OUTLOOK: Assigned to Memphis

2004 SEASON: After an early April transition to the Cardinals, began his season at Double-A Tennessee where he batted .293 over 49 games with nine home runs and 27 RBI.

Was a .323 hitter at home for the Smokies (7 HR, 14 RBI) vs. .254 on the road (2 HR, 13 RBI).

Started the year with a nine-game hitting streak (.548, 17-31) from 4/11-5/10.

Was placed on the disabled list on 4/22 with a left groin strain, coming off the DL on 5/6.

Was promoted to Memphis (AAA) on 5/20 playing 22 games for the Redbirds before finishing the season at Tennessee.

Caught 17 games at Memphis, batting .250 when behind the plate. Was 1-for-3 as a pinch hitter.

MISC: Graduated from Marina High School (Calif.)...played baseball at Louisiana State University where he graduated in June of 2000...resides in Baton Rouge, La., with his wife Carlie.

CAREER TRANSACTIONS: Selected by Arizona Diamondbacks in the fifth round of the June, 2000 free-agent draft.
