Current Contract:
Contract renewable through 2009.
Became a Cardinal:
Selected in the fifth round of the June, 2003 First-Year Player Draft. Received a $175,000 signing bonus.
2005 Season:
Yarbrough began the season at low Class A Quad Cities where he hit only .203 in 38 games, serving primarily as the backup catcher. He was sent down to short-season Class A New Jersey on June 19, where he hit .255 with two home runs in 51 games. The Cardinals promoted him to Quad Cities on August 31, but he went hitless in seven at bats over two games and was not on the active roster for the playoffs.
Career Notes:
Yarbrough has hit .262 with 12 home runs in three seasons since being drafted by the Cardinals. In 2004, when he hit .326 in 48 games for Rookie-level Johnson City, he was two hits shy of winning the Appalachian League batting title.
