Biography:
BECAME A CARDINAL: Selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 11th round of the 2000 draft.

CONTRACT STATUS: Assigned to Memphis

2005 OUTLOOK: Gall has a chance to get called up this season and winning a bench job. He will most likely spend most of the 2005 season at AAA Memphis.

2004 SEASON: Spent entire season at Triple-A Memphis where he batted .292 with a career-high 22 HR’s and 84 RBI (2nd among Cardinals minor leaguers).

Batted .352 with nine HR’s and 27 RBI in June and hit .329 with six HR’s and 21 RBI in April, earning Cardinals Minor League Player of the Month honors for the season’s first month.

Earned Pacific Coast League All-Star selection and was 1-for-2 with RBI in LF start.

Hit his 20th HR on 6/24, then hit just two HR’s the remainder of season.

Appeared in 117 games in LF, 17 at 1B, two in RF and five as designated hitter.

Batted .341 (90-264) in road games with 26 of his organization-leading 34 doubles coming away from home.

Had a season-high 11-game hit streak from 6/19-27 during which he raised his BA from .314 to .330.

Enjoyed 4-hit games on three occasions (last 8/11 at Tucson) and had four 2-homer games (last 6/21 vs. Omaha).

MISC: Gall is one of the most popular players in the Cardinals' minor league system. For two seasons fans have been calling for the Cardinals to call up Gall. Given a shot in spring training in 05, Gall was sent to AAA Memphis after a dismal spring training.

Gall hit just .206 in 15 games and 34 at bats, didn't hit a home run and drove in only two.
