Biography:
BECAME A CARDINAL: Reggie Sanders is the player we asked the Cardinals to go after near the end of the 2002 season. The Cardinals signed the free on December the 19th, 2003.

CONTRACT STATUS: Sanders signed a two-year, $6 million deal in December 2003. He made $2 million in 04 and will make $4 million this season.

2005 OUTLOOK: Sanders will be the everyday left fielder for the Cardinals this season.

Numerous injuries sidelined Sanders throughout 2004, but he was still used in 135 games and that is probably about what you can expect this season.

The Cardinals have a decent bench and you can expect John Mabry, Roger Cedeno and So Taguchi to get some playing time in left this season again.

The 37 year old veteran is in great shape and you can expect him to post about the same numbers he did last season.

Sanders ended up with the fourth 20-20 season of his career and he could even add anoter 20-20 season this year.

Hitting around .280 with 24 HRs and about 70 RBI is about what you should expect from Reggie. He will remain a very valuable part of the Cardinals lineup and a positive force in the clubhouse.

2004 SEASON: Played for his seventh different organization in the past seven years.

Became the first player in Major League history to collect 20-or-more home runs with six different teams. He posted his 20th home run, a three-run shot, on 8/28 at PIT (off Nelson Figueroa).

Collected his fourth career 20-20 season (20 SB, 20 HR) and first since 1999...stole 20-or-more bases in a season for the eighth time in his career.

Finished second on team with 21 stolen bases.

MISC: Reggie joined fellow big leaguers Eric Chavez and Sean Casey in Los Angeles this offseason to film a national public service announcement on behalf of the Major League Baseball Players Trust and Volunteers of America that promoted community involvement...is a 1986 graduate of Wilson (Florence, SC) High School...played collegiate baseball at Spartanburg (SC) Methodist College...married, wife’s name is Wyndee...has four daughters, Cody (12/22/92), Carrigon (10/14/97), Carson (4/19/01) and Cooper (3/7/04)...makes his off-season home in Scottsdale, Az.
