another former team member in Chris Gissell (2005), who was signed back by the Athletics
organization late in August. He was pitching in the Chinese Professional
League earlier in the 2009 season after being a member of Sacramento's 2008 staff.

Yadel Marti, who defected from
Cuba this summer, has signed on to
pitch with Tigres del Licey this winter in the Dominican League. The team
features fellow Cuban and St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Amaury Cazana. Yadel, a
29-year old right-hander, is currently a free agent and looking to showcase his
talents so he can sign with a MLB club before the 2010
season.
