Quad Cities to Scrap Tandem Rotation

Quad Cities to Scrap Tandem Rotation

This afternoon's ballgame marks the first the River Bandits will play this year with a traditional five-man starting rotation.

Quad Cities utilized the tandem starting system through nearly all of the first two months, going 22-26 with a 4.73 ERA to check in 12th in the 14-team Midwest League in pitching.

The new five-man rotation will feature, in order, RHP's Gary Daley, Brett Zawacki and Kevin Thomas, LHP Hector Cardenas and RHP Arquimedes Nieto.

Moving from the piggyback rotation to full-time bullpen roles are RHP's Adam Veres, Scott McGregor and Andres Rosales.

Hopefully the Cardinals will decide to stop using the tandem starting system for good and return to the traditional game.
