Cardinals Keep Coaching Staff Intact for 2009

McKay: With La Russa the entire way

Major league coaching and scouting assignments made by the St. Louis Cardinals for the 2009 season.

On Tuesday, the St. Louis Cardinals announced that they have reached agreement on contracts for 2009 with all of their Major League coaches, including Pitching Coach Dave Duncan (14th season with Cardinals) who reached agreement on a new contract earlier this month.

 

Also returning to manager Tony La Russa's coaching staff will be First-Base coach Dave McKay (14th season), Third-Base Coach Jose Oquendo (11th season), Hitting Coach Hal McRae (5th season), Bench Coach Joe Pettini (8th season) and Bullpen Coach Marty Mason (10th season).

 

The Cardinals also announced their Pro Scouting Staff for 2009 with the return of Mike Jorgensen and Gary LaRocque as the team's Major League Scouting Coordinators.

 

The Cardinals also announced that Marty Keough, Matt Slater, Bruce Benedict, Alan Benes, Deric McKamey, Joe Rigoli and Chuck Fick will handle pro scouting duties and that Matt Carroll will continue in his role as coordinator for baseball operations/pro scouting.
