As we do each and every week here at stlcardinals.scout.com, we call out the best of the best - the “Post of the Week” from our Scout.com St. Louis Cardinals message board.
Here is the link to the Message Boards, of which there are several – for fantasy players, insider information for subscribers, general topics, non-Cardinals sports and more.
This article covers the week ending Saturday, September 6.
Each year, our message board community manages a discussion and voting thread around naming the top prospects in the Cardinals minor league system. “CariocaCardinal” gets a shout out here to acknowledge his leadership in organizing the currently-running process for 2008-2009, the ”2009 Community Top 50 Prospects List”. Anyone can participate in the voting, so please join in, if you are so inclined. The current list is maintained on the initial page of the thread, linked to above.
Sometimes, information presented in one thread is reused in another. Such is the case with poster “thejager” the last two weeks. Last week, we missed recognizing a pair of posts on page 99 of our “Old” ”TRADES/RUMORS/TRADE IDEAS” thread. There, Cardinals roster composition and their associated 2009 (and 2010) salaries are estimated. Conclusions can be drawn about how trades and free agent signings might be carried out over the off-season. (Note: The initial thread reached its 100-page maximum, so a new ”TRADES/RUMORS/TRADE IDEAS - CONTINUED” one has been started.)
The above information was re-stated on page two of the thread, ”TLR’s price”. These posts generated a lot of good discussion among posters, refining the numbers and speculating on resulting actions.
In recognition of those initial posts, “thejager” is our winner of the “Post of the Week”. He collects a free four-week subscription to stlcardinals.scout.com and all the other great sites in the Scout.com network.
Next week, it can be you! So, keep posting!
