FLORIDA STATE LEAGUE PLAYOFFS – Game one
The Cardinals match-up with the Daytona Cubs has been postponed due to Daytona’s ground crews inability to get the field back into playing shape. The rain started in the bottom of the fifth inning with the visiting Cardinals leading 4-0.
Steven “King of the” Hill homered twice and drove in three runs for the Cardinals before the skies opened up. It was all for not and the game will be played in its entirety on Wednesday.

Quad Cities River Bandits (A) - Season Over
RECORD: 68-66 overall, 4th place in first and second half
Batavia Muckdogs (SS) - Pounds State College 10-2
The Muckdogs continue their march toward the playoffs by putting runs on the board in the third through sixth innings and then putting the game away with four runs in the eighth.
The Muckdog attack was led by third baseman Jermaine Curtis who racked up three doubles and drove in three runs. Jose Garcia doubled three times and scored four runs.
Shane Peterson had two hits and is hitting .400 in his last eight games. Charlie Cutler reached base three times with two singles and a walk. Cutler is hitting .370 since August 1st.
Thomas Eager spun five strong innings of one run baseball. For his effort, Eager notched his sixth win and lowered his ERA to 1.76. George Brown struck out six in three shutout innings.
With the Jamestown loss, the “Dogs” are 2.5 games up with four to play.
