Memphis Redbirds (Triple-A) - Winners over Iowa 5-4
Rico Washington had three hits and four RBIs to lead the Redbirds over their adversaries, the Cubs. One of the hits was his tenth home run of the season, a two-run blast in the third inning.
David Freese singled twice and scored two runs. Freese raises his average to .308.
P.J. Walters picked up his ninth Triple-A win for the Redbirds. Jason Motte notched his sixth save with two strikeouts in a perfect ninth. Motte now has 105 strikeouts in 63.2 innings or almost a 15 K/9 average.

Springfield Cardinals (Double-A) - Doubled up by Tulsa 4-2
The Drillers put one on the board in the third through sixth innings to gain the victory over the Cardinals. Daniel Descalso continues to feast on Double-A pitching with two more hits to raise his average to .471.
Allen Craig returned from the disabled list and contributed a double and a walk. Normally the third baseman, Craig played left field to make room for the red-hot Brett Wallace.
Wallace doubled and drove in a run. In seven games with Springfield, the 2008 number one pick has seven extra-base hits and nine RBIs. Jim Rapoport reached base four times with three singles and a walk.
Kyle Mura was tagged with the loss after allowing four runs in 5.2 innings

Palm Beach Cardinals (High-A) - Shutout St. Lucie 3-0
Tyler Herron threw seven innings of two hit baseball and struck out six but did not factor in the decision. Davis Bilardello pitched a shutout inning to pick up the win. Francisco Samuel picked up his 28th save with two strikeouts in the ninth.
Back behind the plate, Steven “King of the” Hill had three hits including a double. Tyler Henley reached base three times with a single and two walks.

Quad Cities River Bandits (A) - Buzzed by Burlington 14-4
Ryan Kulik was roughed up for nine runs in only 1.2 innings. In his full season debut, Matt Frevert spun two shutout innings.
Adron Chambers and Curt Smith both had a hit and two RBIs.
In the field, the River Bandits committed six errors.

Batavia Muckdogs (SS) - Lost to Mahoning Valley 8-7
The Muckdogs scored four in the top of the ninth but still fell a run short. Edwin Gomez tripled and hit his first home run of the season. Shane Peterson appears to be coming out of his slump. After three hits on Monday night, Peterson doubled twice, drew two walks, and drove in two runs.
Miguel Tapia was knocked around for six runs in only six innings. Scott Gorgen struck out seven in four innings of relief.
