Pete Kozma led a furious come-from-behind rally on Sunday afternoon, opening the ninth inning with a game-tying homer as the Quad Cities River Bandits scored four times in the final frame on their way to a 5-2 win over the Great Lakes Loons at the Dow Diamond.

Pete Kozma led a furious come-from-behind rally on Sunday afternoon, opening the ninth inning with a game-tying homer as the Quad Cities River Bandits scored four times in the final frame on their way to a 5-2 win over the Great Lakes Loons at the Dow Diamond.

Quad Cities (20-16, 53-47) improved to a season-high six games over .500 with the win, as Kozma stretched his team-high hitting streak to 13 games with a 3-for-4 evening.

Minor League Pitcher of the Day - Clayton Mortensen

Mortensen picked up his fifth win of the season after pitching seven innings and allowing just five hits and two runs while striking out eight. The key here, he went deep into the game.

 

 

Minor League Player of the Day - Pete Kozma

Extended his hitting streak to 13 games with a 3-for-4 day at the plate
