Memphis (Triple-A) fell to Tucson 7-4
Joe Mather was the offensive leader with two hits including a solo home run. Josh Phelps and David Freese each doubled and Phelps scored a run. D'Angelo Jimenez had a hit and two RBIs. Colby Rasmus went 0-for-4 with a walk and two strikeouts.

Springfield (Double-A) thumped by Arkansas 8-3
Jose Martinez collected three hits including a double. Mark Shorey singled twice and drove in two runs. Steven Hill doesn't seem to be phased by his promotion as he collected two more hits, scored a run, and drove in a run. Shane Robinson's multi-hit streak came to an end but he did draw a walk, steal a base, and score a run. Tyler Greene singled but made two errors and now has 11 on the season.
Cory Rauschenberger got knocked around for eight runs, five earned, on nine hits and three walks in four innings. He did strike out five and is now 1-3 with a 6.94 ERA in Double-A. Adam Daniels made a relief appearance, pitching a shutout inning but giving up a hit and two walks. Marco Gonzalez struck out two in two perfect innings. Fernando Salas struck out the side in his only inning of work.

Palm Beach (High-A) falls to Jupiter 4-3
The Cardinals gave up runs in the eighth and ninth to fall to their roommates at Roger Dean Stadium. Elvis Hernandez allowed two runs on four hits in three innings. Josh Dew gave up two hits with a strikeout in two innings of relief. Kyle Sadlowski yielded a solo home run to be charged with a blown save but did strike out three in 2.1 innings. Jon Mikrut allowed his first earned run since returning to Palm Beach.

Quad Cities (A) lost to Peoria 7-5
The River Bandits committed four errors in the first inning to allow the Chiefs to get up 6-1. The team made five errors on the day. Chuckie Fick gave up six runs, zero earned, in three innings. The pitcher made two errors himself. Wayne Daman notched four strikeouts in two scoreless innings. Blake King gave up a run on four hits and two walks in three innings.
Tommy Pham led off the game with a home run. Pham had two hits on the evening while striking out in his three other at bats. Pete Kozma had three hits and scored a run. Charlie Kingrey had two hits, an RBI, and a run scored.

Yorbel Alcala was the only team member with two hits. Christofher Dumont hit a solo home run. Billy Bolivar doubled and scored a run.

Minor League Pitcher of the Day - Marco Gonzalez
The 23-year-old logged two perfect innings while striking out two in relief. Gonzalez now has a 1.42 ERA in five games in Double-A.
Minor League Player of the Day - Joe Mather
The tall, lanky outfielder seems locked in after getting two hits on Monday including his fourth home run. The 25-year-old is now hitting .325/.435/.597.
