As we do each and every week here at stlcardinals.scout.com, we call out the best of the best - the “Post of the Week” from our Scout.com Cardinals message board.
Here is the link to the Message Boards, of which there are several – for fantasy players, insider information for subscribers, general topics, non-Cardinals sports and more.
This article covers the week ending Saturday, January 19.
A thread that ran onto three screens of posts was called ”IS there a worse middle infield in all of baseball?”. On page two, “easton714” offered a view of the relative value and implications of having Brendan Ryan and Cesar Izturis on the roster.
“SoonerinNC” began a discussion entitled ”Another way to look at 08 on the farm” which looked at examples of players that competed and excelled at multiple levels of the Cardinals minor league system in 2007.
As many readers know, we are currently in the process unveiling our view of the top 15 Cardinals teams of all time. We also have a daily thread on the board to discuss and debate that day’s selection. “bicyclemike” is a regular contributor, offering his own views of each team after they are disclosed. An example is here: ”St. Louis Cardinals #11 All-Time Team: 1926”
In the midst of some squabbling and silliness that had little to do with baseball, there is a nugget from “forsch31” near the bottom of page four of the thread called ”Batting Avg’s”. “forsch31” took a look back at the actions (and in some cases, inaction) from Cardinals management in recent seasons while analyzing the ramifications.
This time, there was a clear winner of the “Post of the Week”. “UncleBuck44” shared a detailed analysis of the status of all 30 minor league systems in the thread ”Ranking the 30 Farm Systems (Where Do the Cardinals Fit?)”. In recognition, “UncleBuck44” collects a free four-week subscription to stlcardinals.scout.com and all the other great sites in the Scout.com network.
Next week, it can be you! So, keep posting!
