Palm Beach Cardinals (High-A): Split a Double-Header
The Cardinals split a double-header Friday, losing the first game 8-2, before coming back and win game two, 6-3.
GAME ONE: Starter Stuart Pomeranz (0-2) surrendered three runs on four hits and a walk while fanning two over two innings in his second start for Palm Beach.
First baseman Allen Craig was the only Cardinal with more than one hit, he went 2-for-3 with a walk.
GAME TWO: Starter Trey Hearne gave up three runs on seven hits and two walks with four strikeouts over 4 2/3 innings. Donnie Smith (W, 2-1) pitched around a hit and a walk with two strikeouts over 1 1/3 scoreless innings for the win before Luke Gregerson tossed a hitless seventh for his 26th save. p> Catcher Brandon Yarbrough drove in three runs to lead the offense.
