"Cardinals Live" Expands to One Hour

FSN Midwest's St. Louis Cardinals pregame show, "Cardinals Live", expands to one hour beginning Friday, July 6, when the Cardinals host the San Francisco Giants (pregame at 6:00 PM; game at 7:00 PM).

The Cardinals become one of only two Major League teams to have a one-hour pregame show before each of its cable telecasts, along with the Boston Red Sox.

The show, which was previously 30 minutes, airs before every Cardinals game on FSN Midwest. It includes:

  • Interviews and features with Cardinals players
  • An interview with manager Tony LaRussa
  • A segment with Mike Shannon, in which the former Cardinal interviews some of baseball's  best-known personalities
  • Looks at the Cardinals minor league system
  • A preview of that night's game.

"There is a tremendous appetite for Cardinals content," said FSN Midwest General Manager and Senior Vice President Jack Donovan. "Expanding our pregame show allows us to go deeper into the baseball news and stories that interest our viewers."

Before home games, Cardinals Live originates from Busch Stadium. Before road games, the show originates from FSN Midwest's studio in St. Louis with reports from the ballpark.

Cardinals Live is hosted by Pat Parris, Joel Goldberg and Jim Hayes, with analysis from Dan McLaughlin, Al Hrabosky and Rick Horton and local sports media experts. The Cardinals Live postgame show also runs for approximately one hour after every FSN Midwest telecast.

FSN Midwest, in its 14th season as the home of St. Louis Cardinals baseball, telecasts 130 regular season games in 2007.
