The Cardinals become one of only two Major League teams to have a one-hour pregame show before each of its cable telecasts, along with the Boston Red Sox.
The show, which was previously 30 minutes, airs before every Cardinals game on FSN
Midwest. It includes:
-
Interviews and features with Cardinals
players
-
An interview with manager Tony
LaRussa
-
A segment with Mike Shannon, in which the former
Cardinal interviews some of baseball’s best-known
personalities
-
Looks at the Cardinals minor league
system
- A preview of that night’s game.
“There is a tremendous appetite for Cardinals content,” said FSN Midwest General
Manager and Senior Vice President Jack Donovan. “Expanding our pregame show allows us to
go deeper into the baseball news and stories that interest our viewers.”
Before home games, Cardinals Live originates from Busch Stadium. Before road
games, the show originates from FSN Midwest’s studio in St. Louis with reports from the
ballpark.
Cardinals Live is hosted by Pat Parris, Joel Goldberg and Jim Hayes, with analysis from
Dan McLaughlin, Al Hrabosky and Rick Horton and local sports media experts. The Cardinals
Live postgame show also runs for approximately one hour after every FSN Midwest telecast.
FSN Midwest, in its 14th season as the home of St. Louis Cardinals baseball, telecasts
130 regular season games in 2007.
