Memphis Redbirds (Triple-A): Won 4-1 over Oklahoma

Outfielders John Rodriguez and Nick Stavinoha hit sixth-inning home runs to lead the Memphis Redbirds to a 4-1 win on Sunday.

Memphis starter Matt Ginter (1-0) giving up only three hits and one unearned run.

Relievers Mark Worrell, Troy Cate, Andy Cavazos, combined for two innings of scoreless relief and closer Brian Falkenborg struck out the side in the ninth for his second save of the season.

 

 

Springfield Cardinals (Double-A): Lost 4-1 to Frisco Roughriders

The Springfield Cardinals only managed to score one run Sunday and it came in the top of the ninth inning, it was too little and too late, as the Frisco Roughriders handed the Cardinals their third straight loss of the season.

Mitchell Boggs the Cardinals starter, lasted five innings, giving up seven hits and three earned runs to take his first loss on the season.

Minor League Pitcher of the Day

Memphis Redbirds starter RHP Matt Ginter picked up his first win Sunday with six solid innings, allowing just one run, unearned, on three hits to go along with five strikeouts on the day. He picked up the only win in the Cardinals organization on Sunday, with Springfield coming out on the short end of the stick and Palm Beach and Quad Cities, both had the day off.
