Post of the Week – Jan. 21 through Jan. 27

Posted Jan 28, 2007

Recognizing the very best post of the week from our message board community of thousands of St. Louis Cardinals fans the world over. While you are at it, make sure you check out our new Board.

As we do each and every week here at stlcardinals.scout.com, we single out the best of the best - the “Post of the Week” from our Scout.com Cardinals message board, this time for the week ending Saturday, January 27.

Here is the link to our new Message Board, which became our new home on Monday, January 15.

The signing of Jeff Weaver by Seattle and the impact on his loss to the St. Louis Cardinals predictably was the subject of a lot of discussion and debate this past week. At least two long threads on the subject ensued. On page one of the thread, ”there goes weaver….”, “BobReed5” argued the loss of Weaver in terms of a negative for the Cardinals.

Our winner here two weeks ago, “irrigator5”, put together a well-reasoned forecast of which pitchers could make the Cardinals’ 25-man roster coming out of spring training in the thread Opening day 25-man Roster?”.

This week’s winner, “haltz”, looked at Jim Edmonds compared to past MLB centerfield greats using the sabermetric stat WARP3 on page two of the thread: ”Who's your All-Time Cardinals starting 8?”.

In recognition of a fine post, “haltz” collects a free four-week subscription to stlcardinals.scout.com and all the other great sites in the Scout.com network.

Next week, it can be you! So, keep posting!
